Patient Care Technician (PCT) / CNA - Women's Health & Obstetrics

We are seeking a compassionate Patient Care Technician to assist with patient care in our Obstetrics, Postpartum, Neonatal, and Women's Health units. Reporting to the Director of Obstetrical Nursing, the Patient Care Technician works under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing personnel to support the care of antenatal, neonate, postpartum, and GYN patients. Care is delivered in accordance with the standards established by the Nursing Services Department, as well as all hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. This role is ideal for individuals interested in building experience in maternal health, labor and delivery, postpartum care, neonatal care, or hospital patient care.
Responsibilities
- Taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Aiding patients with basic care needs and comfort measures
- Serving as a support to nurses with routine patient care tasks
- Maintaining awareness of patient needs and communicating observations to Registered Nurses
- Helping to maintain a safe, clean, and supportive patient care environment
- Providing compassionate customer service to patients and families
- Supporting care for antenatal, postpartum, neonatal, and gynecological patients
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
- BLS Certification - Healthcare Provider required
Qualifications
- Ability to accurately take and record vital signs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent patient service and bedside manner
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Basic computer and electronic documentation skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to maintain confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
