About the role
Provides patient-related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in the Medical/Surgical Unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregivers and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.
Responsibilities
- Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervision of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed.
- Assists, observes, and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
- Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year required.
- 6 months in acute care experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) license preferred.
Schedule
- Full-time Night shift: 3 × 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM).
- Self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage; scheduled workdays may vary (no set or fixed days).
- Weekend and Holiday rotations required.
- Weekend, evening, and night shift differentials offered where applicable.
