About the role
The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to ensure the comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients. They assist patients with activities of daily living and perform necessary hygiene and comfort procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assists patients with activities of daily living
- Performs hygiene and comfort procedures for patients
- Shares various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members of the patient care team within a unit-based, self-directed environment
Requirements
- Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry OR Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) OR Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- One (1) year of patient care experience, preferably in roles such as CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech, or other relevant acute, direct patient care positions
Qualifications
Visual color acuity may be required depending on the specific role within certain units.
