Patient Care Technician Certified (PCT) | Medical Surgical Unit

What You Will Do

• Provides assistance to patients with their activities of daily living.
• Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff.
• Auxiliary tasks may include:
• Bathing and dressing needs
• Serving and collecting food trays
• Encouraging and/or assisting with feeding
• Answering call lights
• Insuring a clean environment
• Transporting patients upon admission and dismissal
• Assisting with ambulation
• Orienting/reorienting of resident to the facility environment
• Assisting with restorative exercises
• Collecting specimens as directed by nursing staff
• Assesses and documents completed cares.
• Provides feedback to nursing staff on patient conditions, pain management, and other concerns.
• Participates in restocking supplies and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Provides emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families.
• Performs clerical duties related to admission, discharge, and transfers.
• Enters data into the computer and keeps patient records current.

Essential Qualifications

• The individual must be able to work the specified hours.
• Must have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
• Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
