Patient Care Technician-Certified Nursing Assistant (Night Shift)

About the role

ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Rio Rancho is a 25‑bed, all‑private‑room inpatient rehabilitation hospital that provides superior care and amazing outcomes for patients recovering from life‑changing events. The team works closely with patients to help them regain independence, celebrating milestones such as ringing the independence day bell and receiving a certificate of completion upon discharge.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.
• Performs and documents vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc.
• Transfers patients utilizing proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques.
• Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing personnel.
• Assists in preparing unit, patient rooms, and patient beds for receiving patient admissions.
• Maintains bed and room in a clean, neat, safe, and comfortable manner.
• Removes supplies and equipment not in use; places furnishings and equipment out of the path to provide a safe, neat, and organized area.
• Adheres to patient rounding expectations and standards.
• Assists in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to providing maximal patient comfort and optimizing healing.
• Promptly and appropriately responds to patient and family calls and requests.
• Appropriately designates applicable charges to individual patients using hospital’s established system.
• May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent; 2 years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of current clinical operations and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate infection prevention and proper body mechanics.
• Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.

Schedule

This position works the night shift.
