About the role

Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) provide high-quality care to patients suffering from the most advanced stage of chronic kidney disease, known as ESRD. Responsibilities include monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, measuring and recording vital stats, initiating cannulation, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. PCTs combine technical skills with a genuine passion to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment
  • Measure and record patient vital statistics
  • Initiate cannulation procedures
  • Perform patient observations and document care
  • Set up and operate hemodialysis machines

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Desire to care for people and comfort working around blood and needles
  • For experienced PCTs: current certification from BONENT, NNCC, or NNCO (or other state-approved certification)
  • For experienced PCTs: current BLS/CPR certification

Pay

$17.35 - $28.20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
