Patient Care Technician
About the role
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. This position involves assisting clients and staff, reviewing patient/client activities, ensuring compliance with fire and safety regulations, and supporting various treatment processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients and staff with team needs throughout the facility.
- Address the treatment process within organizational guidelines, philosophies, policies and procedures.
- Review patient/client activities and relate observations to staff.
- Ensure building is in compliance with fire and safety regulations.
- Provide clerical support to the treatment team, medication services, patient scheduling and management of unit office/tech station.
- Support recovery activities of patients/clients and relate observations to appropriate staff.
- Assist patients/clients from admission through discharge.
- Monitor and maintain patient/client’s medications.
- Manage money restricting program within organization guidelines.
- Accompany residents/patients/clients to scheduled appointments, meetings, grocery store, etc.
- Support resident/patient/client vocational goals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Satisfactory completion of a state/license specific background check
- CPR certification or obtain within 30 days (from American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience working in the addiction treatment industry
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Two years of experience in understanding of the Twelve Step Process/Program
- Insurance requirements: No major motor vehicle violations within the past 3 years, no capital violations within the last 5 years, two years free from chemical use
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience working in the addiction treatment industry
