Patient Care Technician

About the role

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care in an outpatient dialysis center. This role involves monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, building long-term relationships with patients, and educating them on kidney dialysis-related topics.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
• Maintain and record vital signs and patient observations.
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines.
• Build and maintain relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease.
• Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics.
• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership.
• Operate under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Requirements

• Desire to enter the health care field to care for others in need.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Physical and mental stamina to work long hours on your feet.
• Health care experience a plus, including certifications such as BONENT Certified, CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule to accommodate mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in various clinics within the territory as needed.

Pay
