Patient Care Technician Acute Care / full Time / Days
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by performing activities of daily living, vital signs, point of care testing, skin care and assist with cardiac monitoring under the supervision of licensed staff.
- Document and communicate effectively by accurately recording care and observations in the clinical system and relaying patient information to the healthcare team in a timely manner.
- Perform clerical/secretarial functions (e.g. answering the phone, arranging external transport, patient record preparation/assembly, filing, entering charges, contacting physicians, maintaining logs, scheduling tests and requests for services from other departments).
- Train and support new staff, demonstrating professionalism, and adapting to changing unit needs.
- Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Licenses: None
- Experience: None
- Certifications: BLS within 90 days of hire
- Physical Requirements: In an 8 to 12-hour workday, employee stands/walks (hours at one time): 4-6, sits (hours at one time/hour during the day): 0-2, lifts: 20-50 #, bends: frequently, squats: frequently, kneels: frequently, climbs: occasionally, pushes/pulls: yes, fine manipulation: yes, uses feet for repetitive movement: no, uses hands for repetitive: simple grasping: yes.
