About the role
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center seeks a patient care attendant to support licensed professional nurses.
Responsibilities
- Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the nursing team.
- Administers or assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Performs vital signs, intake & output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures.
- Assists nurse with patient and family education.
- Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
- Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
- Participates in professional development.
Requirements
- No experience required.
- Preferred: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
Skills
- Ability to perform ADLs.
- Knowledge of vital signs and patient monitoring.
- Basic understanding of patient education.
- Good documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.

Pay
Eligible for 36 hours per week, nights 7pm-7:30am, holiday rotation, weekend rotation.
