Patient Care Tech - Resource Pool_Flexi

About the role

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a flexi/prn Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Resource Pool to work on an as needed basis. This position will work in various units at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of a professional nurse.
• Support the admissions and discharge process.
• Comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
• Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing staff.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• One of the following programs is acceptable for education:
  • Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
  • Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School
  • Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic
  • Current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT)
  • Current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant

Certifications/Licensure

• AHA BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

• One year of health care experience preferred.
