Lovelace Women’s Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center, and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation.
Responsibilities
- Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff.
- Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
- Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
- This position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.
Qualifications
- High School or GED.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Preferred Job Requirements: Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course. Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Working towards approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification.
- Currently enrolled in nursing school.
