Responsibilities

  • Patient & Visitor Interactions / Customer Service / Hourly Rounding: Answer patient call lights, answer phones, assist visitors, perform purposeful hourly rounding.
  • Patient Safe Handling / Ambulation / Repositioning: Learn patient safe handling skills, assist in ambulation, assist in transferring, lifting, and repositioning patients using Safe Patient Handling equipment.
  • Basic Nursing Care / ADLs: Provide basic care including bathing, grooming, oral care, eating, feeding, use of bedpan or urinal, positioning, answering and responding to patient call lights, bed making, etc., under the supervision of a RN/LPN.
  • Patient Safe Handling / Ambulation / Repositioning: Assist with room set up, welcoming of new patients/room orientation, discharging and/or transfer of patients, provides patient/family orientation to room and hospital.
  • Procedures and Treatments: Accurately complete and document patient care activities, explain and perform procedures, notify appropriate personnel of response and questions, collect non-sterile specimens, perform point of care patient blood sugar testing, promote and maintain skin integrity.
  • Care Companion / Sitter / Observer: Remain with a patient as a means to keep the patient safe.
  • Department Specific Tasks: Support the nursing team by indirect patient care activities such as restocking equipment/linens, cleaning equipment, answering and relaying telephone calls, filing and maintaining records, retrieving and delivering supplies, specimens, instruments, test results, etc.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education Requirements: Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred, completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
  • Minimum Licensure Requirements: Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association if not current or does not have certification, required to be obtained within the employee’s introductory period (within 90 days of hire date).
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions, demonstrates concern for and commitment to the welfare of our patient and families.

Pay

$18.84 - $27.32 per hour, determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience.

Schedule

Full Time, Night shift (7am-7:30p) with Rotating Weekends, 36 hours per week.
