Patient Care Tech, Full-Time, Days

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support independent and dependent activities of daily living
• Measure and record vital signs
• Assist with mobility and ambulation
• Perform phlebotomy
• Conduct point‑of‑care testing
• Perform EKG testing
• Remove peripheral IV lines
• Collect specimens
• Insert and remove Foley catheters
• Comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse
• Observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and document in a timely and accurate manner
• Report any changes to the nurse or medical staff

Requirements

• HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• One of the following:
  • Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
  • Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
  • Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School
  • Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic
  • Current student enrolled in a clinical program (beyond prerequisites) having completed at least one semester of RN, LPN, RT or PT
  • Current work experience within the last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant
• Basic Life Support Certification

Pay

The base pay range for full‑time employment is $18.93 – $27.41 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
