Patient Care Tech - Full-Time Days

About the Role

Under RN supervision, provides direct patient care, transport, and support duties, ensuring adherence to care standards within scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with patients and families using AIDET
• Perform hourly rounds and answer calls promptly
• Orient patients and manage their belongings
• Prepare rooms and maintain a safe environment
• Assist with patient transfers and ambulation
• Apply and monitor oxygen and restraints
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing
• Support bedside procedures and treatments (e.g., EKG setup, skin traction, cast removal)
• Document intake/output and assist with related tasks
• Support emergency response and transport deceased patients
• Follow safety protocols to prevent falls and infections
• Provide break coverage and collaborate with team members to maintain unit functionality

Requirements & Qualifications

• CNA certification, RN student or graduate, EMT or Paramedic license, or Medical Assistant certification
• BCLS or ACLS certification required within six months of hire
• Demonstrated competency in clinical skills, communication, safety, and infection control
