About the role
The Patient Care Technician performs various duties under a licensed nurse’s supervision, helping deliver patient care and meet family needs. The role follows the care plan while considering the patient’s age and development stage.
Responsibilities
- Collect and record patient data, including vital signs
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL)
- Answer call lights and complete patient rounds
- Help complete and maintain files and forms for admission, transfer, and discharge
- Assist with patient personal hygiene and clean up
- Comply with Baylor Scott & White policies and procedures

Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Experience: Less than 1 year of experience
- Certification/License/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS) — BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer
