Patient Care Tech - Ambulatory Pre/Post-Op - Days

About the role

The Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) at VCU Health in downtown Richmond is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our dedicated team. The ACC handles a wide range of surgical and medical cases, including orthopedics, gynecology, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, and more.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
• Monitor patients' conditions and report changes to the healthcare team
• Provide direct and indirect care to patients, adjusting care as needed
• Assist with specimen collection and patient data collection
• Ensure patient safety and follow hospital policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and co-workers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or completion of a CNA program
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Qualifications

• Must be able to work flexible hours, including 10 or 12-hour rotating shifts
• Must be able to work Monday through Friday with no nights, weekends, or holidays
