About the role
The MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute - Old Brooklyn offers bi-weekly hours of 72.00, rotating shifts from 3p-11:30p, 11p-7:30a, and 7p-7:30a. The unit is located in the Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke Unit, 5N.
Responsibilities
- Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking
- Answering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed)
- Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy
- Working with RNs, LPNs, Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians
Requirements
- High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
- Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills
- AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (optional after employment in this position)
- One year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital
Qualifications
Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to work in a team environment, good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effective problem-solving skills, current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification, and one year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
Skills
Preferred qualifications include being registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (optional after employment in this position).
