Patient Care Nurse Assistant- Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke 5N OBC 72hrs Biweekly Day/Eve

About the role

The MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute-Old Brooklyn provides specialized care for patients recovering from various conditions, including orthopedic surgeries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. The unit is part of the Neuro Trauma Recovery Stroke Unit, 5N.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating, and drinking.
• Answering call lights and taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).
• Performing and transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy.
• Working with RNs, LPNs, Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, and Dieticians.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or high school equivalency exam completion.
• Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effective problem-solving skills.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (optional after employment).
• One year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
