About the role

Join our Inpatient Brain Injury Physical Rehab Unit, 8N! At MetroHealth's Rehabilitation Institute, you'll be part of a team dedicated to providing premier care for patients with traumatic brain injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking
  • Answering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed)
  • Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy
  • Working with LPNs, RNs, nurse interns, behavioral observers, providers, social workers/case management, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, speech therapy, art & music therapy, and dieticians

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam
  • Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (optional after employment in this position)
  • 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving skills
  • Optional: Registered STNA with ODH Nurse Aide Registry
  • One year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital

Biweekly, 72.00 hours per week, rotating shifts from 7a-730p; 11a-1130p, with weekends and holidays
