Patient Care Nurse Assistant - Cardiology Stepdown

About the Role

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus where research and surgery are advanced, technology is leading-edge, patient care is world class, and caregivers are family. The Cardiology Stepdown Units (J71, J72, and J73) are specialized cardiovascular telemetry units that provide advanced care for patients recovering from complex cardiac conditions. Together, these fast-paced units comprise 73 beds and care for patients with diagnoses including myocardial infarction, post-cardiac interventions, chronic heart failure, dysrhythmias, and pulmonary hypertension.

J71 is a busy 25-bed cardiovascular stepdown unit specializing in the care of Cardiology Stepdown and Medical/Surgical patients. This unit offers a collaborative, fast-paced setting dedicated to exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices, and removing urinary Foley catheter.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period)
• Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Preferred Qualifications

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Physical Requirements

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum hourly: $18.25
Maximum hourly: $24.95

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). Schedule

This position works nights: 7:00pm—7:30am. Weekend and holiday rotation required.
