Patient Care Coordinator (Permanent Charge Nurse)
Overview
Reports to: Nurse Manager/Director of Nursing
Positions Supervised: RN, LPN, Patient Care Assistant, Care Concierge, Unit Secretary
Qualifications Required: Current North Carolina RN licensure (or compact state), minimum two (2) years patient care experience, preferred Bachelor of Nursing, specialty certification, experience working as a charge nurse in an acute care setting.
Additional Skills: Problem solving, flexibility, interpersonal communication skills, ability to remain calm under high levels of stress, compliance with safety and health standards, effective communication, ability to perform multiple tasks at once in an organized manner, collaboration with nursing leadership, service excellence, communication and feedback skills, ability to elevate appropriate items to the Nurse Manager/Director of Nursing, support organizational quality initiatives and throughput goals, completion of required daily reports and checklists.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage patient flow while assuring effective, quality care
- Support the assigned patient care area(s) and facilitate patient flow and a systematic flow and patient care
- Lead shift huddles
- Complete patient assignments
- Support daily operations
- Assure team members meals
- First-line resolution of patient/team members/provider complaints
- Elevate appropriate items to the Nurse Manager/Director of Nursing
- Support organizational quality initiatives and throughput goals
- Completion of required daily reports and checklists
