Patient Care Coordinator
About the role
The Patient Care Coordinator greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner, as well as instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors. The receptionist receives cash payments from patients, issues receipts and posts cash payment data.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for greeting patients upon arrival and checking patients into department
- Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct in APM, updates both as necessary
- Schedule appointments as necessary
- Enter charges correctly and collect appropriate payments
- Answer phones and take messages or route incoming calls as per company policy
- Document all calls and messages appropriately according to company policy
- Responsible for waiting room management and implementation of efficient customer friendly processes
- Work with clinical team staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Communicate with clinical / clerical personnel about service issues and complaints
- Aid co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas for coverage needs
- Answers phone, takes messages and routes calls appropriately
- Adhere to the standards identified in the Employee Policy Manual
- Cooperate with other employees to achieve specific team goals
- Completes other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication both in person and via phone
- 1+ years of related healthcare experience, including scheduling
- Beginner level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work on call Saturday & Sunday from 7:00am - 7:00pm
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with electronic health records
- 1+ years of experience handling and triaging of telephone calls and a multi-system phone line
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to handle cash and to count money at high volumes including mathematical computations
- Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
Schedule
Four 10-hour shifts Monday-Sunday; schedule determined by supervisor.
