Drayer Physical Therapy, a brand partner of Upstream Rehabilitation, is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Birmingham, AL. This entry-level office role focuses on maintaining pleasant and consistent daily clinic operations with excellent customer service.

About the role

The Patient Care Coordinator - I (PCC-I) supports clinic growth through excellence in practice management and patient intake processes, collaborating with the Clinic Director to ensure efficient clinic procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Collect all money due at the time of service.
  • Convert referrals into evaluations and schedule patient visits.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by creating an inviting clinic atmosphere, making welcome calls, and ensuring a great customer experience.
  • Manage schedule efficiency, document routing, personal overtime, non-clinical documentation, deposits, caseload, discharge candidates, progress notes, and insurance reporting.
  • Monitor clinic inventory.
  • Attend required training with Territory Field Trainers for Raintree and other business process updates.
  • Complete quarterly compliance training.
  • Greet everyone entering the clinic in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Schedule new referrals received by fax or telephone from patients and physician offices.
  • Verify insurance coverage for patients and collect patient payments.
  • Maintain an orderly and organized front office workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to relate well to leadership and team members.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work with little to no supervision.
  • Efficient time management and presentation skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Subject to inside environmental conditions with exposure to indoor noise and temperature changes.
  • Full-time position (minimum 40 hours per week) operating Monday through Friday during normal business hours; may require occasional evenings, weekends, or additional hours for special events.
  • Sedentary work with constant sitting and ability to interchange with standing as needed.
  • Constant communication with associates; must be able to hear and speak to exchange information accurately.
  • Frequent operation of computers and office equipment (printers, phone, keyboard, mouse, copy machines) using gross and fine manipulation.
  • Constant repetitive motions for typing and viewing computer screens (near acuity).
  • Ability to comprehend information and use judgment to respond appropriately in various situations.
  • Occasional walking, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting (0-20 lbs. from floor to waist), carrying, or reaching.
  • Rare crawling, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, or lifting under 10 lbs. from waist to shoulder.
