Nature of Work
Serve as the Dental Health Care Coordinator for the Dental Care Coordination program. Manage dental referrals from uninsured and underinsured county adults contracting the Dental Program seeking affordable dental care, recruit dental providers to participate in self-pay discounted dental care plans, coordinate patient care, provide information and educate patients on oral health, and conduct community outreach. Assist with administrative functions within the dental program.
Requirements
- Requires an understanding of office procedures, recording of appointments, verification of eligibility, customer service, medical billing and the ability to initiate them independently.
- Must have good customer service skills when working with the public, face-to-face, and over the phone, and the ability to learn specialized computer systems and programs.
- Maintain important and confidential records and schedules.
- Enter, assemble, update, verify, retrieve, and summarize data and prepare reports using computer databases or spreadsheet software applications.
- Type manuscripts, correspondence, statements, tables and forms.
- Open, sort, read and distribute incoming correspondence.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
- Two years of professional experience in clinical or administrative work in health or medical services.
