Patient Care Attendant

We are a full-service veterinary hospital in Jacksonville, FL offering primary care, illness care, surgery, dentistry, and canine and feline boarding.

About the role

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals for doctor and technician
• Administer medications under the supervision of the technician
• Assist with obtaining lab samples
• Run labs on our in-house machines, including troubleshooting
• Monitor hospitalized patients during treatments and surgery recovery
• Prepare surgical packs
• Clean kennels and replace bedding for hospitalized patients
• Offer food and water to hospitalized patients under supervision
• Walk hospitalized patients under supervision
• Assist with sedated or anesthetized procedures (set up, break down, cleaning, moving patients in and out of O/R)
• Perform general cleaning duties inside and outside the hospital, including laundry, sweeping/mopping, restocking medical supplies, and maintaining medical equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

$16 - $20 per hour, based on skill set and experience.

Schedule

Full-time position with a weekend rotation required.
