Responsibilities

  • Observes patient's mental, emotional and physical conditions and reports any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Performs non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions as directed by nursing staff.
  • May perform special procedures as required and directed (e.g., blood draws, EKGs).
  • Conducts regular patient rounds and meets with patient’s family members when required.
  • Collects test specimens and performs laboratory analysis as directed by nursing staff.
  • Answers patient calls and determines how best to help them.
  • Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
  • Prepares patient rooms for occupancy after discharge.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Completion of a Nurse Assistant Certification Program or equivalent (required).
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross Certification (required).
  • Minimum of six (6) months recent experience as a Nurse Assistant in an acute care setting (preferred).
  • Completion of phlebotomy course or equivalent experience (preferred).

Schedule

Full-time, 72 hours per pay period.

  • Daily work times: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
  • Weekends: Yes.
  • On call: No.
