Responsibilities
- Observes patient's mental, emotional and physical conditions and reports any changes to the nursing staff.
- Performs non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions as directed by nursing staff.
- May perform special procedures as required and directed (e.g., blood draws, EKGs).
- Conducts regular patient rounds and meets with patient’s family members when required.
- Collects test specimens and performs laboratory analysis as directed by nursing staff.
- Answers patient calls and determines how best to help them.
- Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
- Prepares patient rooms for occupancy after discharge.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant Certification Program or equivalent (required).
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross Certification (required).
- Minimum of six (6) months recent experience as a Nurse Assistant in an acute care setting (preferred).
- Completion of phlebotomy course or equivalent experience (preferred).
Schedule
Full-time, 72 hours per pay period.
- Daily work times: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
- Weekends: Yes.
- On call: No.
