Patient Care Associate (PCA)

About the role

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to assist in the individualized care of patients to achieve their highest level of wellness. The position works cooperatively with others as part of a team and performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care.

Responsibilities

• Assists with individualized patient care to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness.
• Works cooperatively with others as part of a team.
• Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

• BLS certification within 1 month of hire.
• PCA competencies completed within 3 months.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• CNA/CPTC or enrolled in a healthcare career program (including high school programs).

Qualifications

• None required.

Preferred Certification

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking.
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, twist, grip, and squat.
