Patient Care Associate I (Day/Evening)

About the role

Observation Unit position providing direct patient care under the direction of a Professional Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs.
• Assists with daily living tasks: dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, ambulation, turning, ensuring patient safety.
• Obtains 12‑lead EKG, sets up respiratory equipment, monitors glucometer, performs bladder catheterization, transcribes orders as indicated.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service.
• Computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances per HR‑106 within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof).
• Nursing student after successful completion of first quarter/semester of nursing school.
• Previous nursing assistant experience or CNA certification.
• BCLS certification.

Skills

• Technical skills: 12‑lead EKG acquisition, respiratory equipment setup, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization, order transcription.

Schedule

Full‑time. Days and evenings, 12‑hour and 8‑hour shifts; weekends and holidays as required.
