About the role

The Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to assist patients with their daily activities and monitor vital signs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with bathing, dressing, and eating patients.
  • Takes patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
  • Completes all necessary documentation in the medical record.
  • Interacts effectively with patients and their families.
  • Helps patients with hygiene tasks such as using the toilet and feeding.
  • Aids patients in turning and repositioning in bed and moving between bed and wheelchair.
  • Listens to and reports any health concerns to nurses.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • No experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
  • Basic Life Support [BLS] certification preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] preferred.
  • Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician [National Certification] preferred.
  • Experience in patient care/elder care, 0-1 year preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand frequently, walk, sit occasionally, lift frequently up to 35 pounds, carry frequently up to 20 pounds, push occasionally, pull occasionally, climb rarely, balance frequently, stoop occasionally, kneel occasionally, crouch occasionally, crawl rarely, reach frequently, gross manipulation frequently, fine manipulation frequently, feel constantly, talk constantly, hear constantly, remote type, onsite work location 300 First Avenue, scheduled weekly hours 36, employee type regular, work shift day.
