Patient Care Associate- 6 West

About the role

Aids nurses in direct and indirect patient care activities. Assists with preparing patient rooms for occupancy after discharge. Performs tasks such as blood draws and EKGs.

Responsibilities

• Observes patient's condition and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Performs non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions.
• Conducts regular patient rounds and meets with patient’s family members when required.
• Captures test specimens and performs laboratory analysis as directed.
• Answers patient calls and assists them with their needs.
• Supports patients with daily activities and personal hygiene.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant Certification Program or equivalent.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross Certification.
• Minimum of six (6) months recent experience as a Nurse Assistant in an acute care setting preferred.
• Completion of phlebotomy course or equivalent experience preferred.
