Patient Care Associate- 5 West

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Observes patient's mental, emotional and physical conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Performs non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions as directed by nursing staff.
• Conducts regular patient rounds and meets with patient’s family members when required.
• Collaborates with nursing staff to collect test specimens and perform laboratory analysis.
• Answers patient calls and provides assistance as needed.
• Supports patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant Certification Program or equivalent.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross Certification.
• Minimum of six (6) months recent experience as a Nurse Assistant in an acute care setting preferred.
• Completion of phlebotomy course or equivalent experience preferred.
