About the role

The Patient Care Associate position at NCH plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality patient care. This position offers flexibility to work across various departments and settings.

Responsibilities

• Captures and enters all necessary nursing orders into PowerChart.
• Prioritizes and communicates patient requests to the appropriate caregivers.
• Answers patient call lights promptly and notifies the right care provider.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers, including coordinating with other healthcare facilities.
• Performs errands such as obtaining and returning supplies to various departments.
• Transports patients safely, ensuring correct identification.
• Maintains cleanliness and order in the operating room (OR).
• Acts as a patient sitter, monitoring patients and reporting any emergencies or changes.
• Completes necessary documentation and restocks supplies as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Effective organizational and multitasking skills.
• Intermediate computer proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
