The unit, 3CN/4CN/5CN, offers a dynamic patient care experience. 3CN specializes in general surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients. 4CN focuses on cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, receiving patients directly from the ICU. 5CN is dedicated to discharge planning and readiness.

Scope of work
- Care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and appropriate documentation of services.
- Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
- Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
