Patient Care Assistant - Emergency Department

About the role

Provides direct patient care under RN supervision, assisting with personal hygiene, vital signs, and ambulation for patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with healthcare team to deliver patient care and documents appropriately in patient records.
• Maintains constant visual observation for patients requiring close safety monitoring.
• Assists with equipment setup, cleaning, and room maintenance, ensuring supplies are stocked.
• Supports clinicians with procedures within scope of practice and aids in patient transport.
• Communicates professionally with patients and colleagues, advocating for patient needs.
• Manages information per regulatory requirements and maintains organizational and nursing competencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of nursing assistant program or relevant experience; CNA certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Previous hospital experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
