Duties
- Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of the technology systems necessary for patient data collection into EMR.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow plan of care to include performing treatments and procedures competently/independently under direction of RN.
- This may include the following procedures dependent upon unit/facility competency requirements: vital signs, ice application, compresses, EKGs, drawing blood, specimen collection, etc.
- Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment; stocking supplies; placing equipment in proper storage areas.
- Demonstrates the ability to be able to take direction from the charge nurse to help admit, discharge, or transfer patients in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Experience: 1 year Prior health care experience in hospital setting (Preferred)
- Licenses and Certifications: CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC), Upon Hire (Required) and Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP)
- In lieu of CNA certification, will accept EMT-B (Basic) from the Virginia Department of Health Professions or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, or Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA), or Medical Assistant Program Graduate, or Currently enrolled in LPN or RN diploma or degree program with at least 80 clinical hours completed.
