Patient Care Assistant I - Medical Surgical Floor at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX. Full-Time | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts. Our Patient Care Assistant will work in our hospital's Medical Surgical unit, providing general patient care while also supporting continuous heart and vital sign monitoring for cardiac patients. Responsibilities
- Assists patients with activities of daily living
- Provides basic nursing care to all patients
- Assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred
- Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred
- Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
