About the role
The Patient Care Assistant position at Landmark Medical Center is a full-time, 24/7 position working evenings. The primary responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring. Reporting results to the licensed nurse and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment are also key duties.
Responsibilities
- Assists with activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, and ambulation
- Obtains vital signs, EKGs, performs phlebotomy, and monitors blood glucose levels
- Documents and reports results to the licensed nurse
- Provides a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
- Performs clerical tasks including handling phone calls, preparing, printing, and scanning patient reports and medical records
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred
- Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Possession of knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred
- Current CNA license in state of Rhode Island
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Pay
The pay range for this position is $1115 - $145 per hour.
