About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports nursing staff in delivering patient care, performing clerical tasks, maintaining the unit environment, and managing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient calls within 10 minutes and anticipates patient needs.
• Makes rounds to reduce patient calls and maintains positive interactions with patients and visitors.
• Smiles and remains pleasant during all interactions, providing necessary data to the RN.
• Contributes to the patient's plan of care and accurately implements interventions under RN direction.
• Documents all care provided, including vital signs, intake and output, meal percentages, equipment used, and patient care.
• Communicates effectively with patients and visitors, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Maintains a safe and organized patient environment, ensuring the safety of the physical space and equipment.
• Collaborates with the RN throughout the shift to ensure effective patient care and data collection.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Certified Nursing Program.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the Department of Public Health.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• Fire Life Safety Training certification from the Los Angeles City.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
