About the role
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports nursing staff in delivering patient care, performing clerical tasks, maintaining unit environments, and managing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Responds to patient calls within 10 minutes and anticipates patient needs.
- Makes rounds to reduce patient calls and maintains positive behaviors.
- Serves as a point of contact for patients and visitors, smiling and being pleasant.
- Provides necessary data to RNs and collaborates in implementing patient care plans.
- Performs essential skills to ensure positive patient outcomes.
- Maintains patient rooms, assists with meals, and ensures proper hygiene.
- Documents all care provided, including vital signs, intake and output, and patient care.
- Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and RNs, adhering to confidentiality protocols.
- Maintains a safe and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license from the Department of Public Health (DPH).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- Fire Life Safety Training certification from the Los Angeles City.

Pay
The hourly rate range for this position is $22.00 - $37.40.
