About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports nursing staff in delivering patient care, performing clerical tasks, maintaining unit environments, and managing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to patient calls within 10 minutes and anticipates patient needs.
  • Makes rounds to reduce patient calls and maintains positive behaviors.
  • Serves as a point of contact for patients and visitors, smiling and being pleasant.
  • Provides necessary data to RNs and collaborates in implementing patient care plans.
  • Performs essential skills to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Maintains patient rooms, assists with meals, and ensures proper hygiene.
  • Documents all care provided, including vital signs, intake and output, and patient care.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and RNs, adhering to confidentiality protocols.
  • Maintains a safe and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license from the Department of Public Health (DPH).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Fire Life Safety Training certification from the Los Angeles City.

Pay

The hourly rate range for this position is $22.00 - $37.40.
