Responsibilities
- Promote and educate patients on various health coverage options.
- Determine eligibility and enroll patients in insurance plans such as Labor of Industries, Affordable Care Plan (ACP), Medicaid/Medicare, and The Marketplace.
- Complete and submit health coverage applications according to plan requirements.
- Process renewal applications and provide monthly reports of outcomes.
- Handle general patient benefit duties, including switching plans and primary care providers.
- Document patient encounters in the patient management system.
- Answer telephone inquiries about patient benefits and respond within 3 hours or the next business day.
- Generate weekly self-pay encounter reports to offer appropriate benefit plan options.
- Perform audits on ACP applications as assigned.
- Contribute to a positive work culture and adhere to clinic policies and the WE CARE standards of behavior.
Requirements
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Computational and computer skills.
- Mathematical knowledge.
- Ability to understand various health care plans.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Navigator Certification for the Washington State Healthcare Exchange.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective communication skills, including complex concepts, written correspondence, and verbal presentations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Qualifications
Must uphold confidentiality regarding CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information, and other proprietary information.
