Patient Ambassador

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Patient Food Services Manager, the Patient Ambassador provides patient‑focused support services within a multidisciplinary scope, including food and nutrition services, linen, laundry services, housekeeping, and supply management. At applicable locations, the Patient Ambassador operates TUG robots for the delivery and exchange of supplies and patient meals to the nursing unit, performing duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient‑focused support services across food and nutrition, linen, laundry, housekeeping, and supply management.
• Operate TUG robots for delivery and exchange of supplies and patient meals to nursing units (where applicable).
• Perform all duties in accordance with Mercy’s mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Requirements

• Obtain Jefferson Food Handlers certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in learning new skills and growing your role within the department.

Skills

• Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
