Patient Admissions Coordinator - Emergency Dept - On Call Variable
About the role
As a Patient Admissions Coordinator, you are the welcoming voice patients hear at the start of their care journey. You combine compassion with organization, confidence with clarity—making complex healthcare processes feel simple, supportive, and human.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and families with a positive attitude
- Processing patient admissions efficiently and accurately
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers
- Managing insurance verification and eligibility processes
- Entering and maintaining accurate patient information in the electronic health record (Epic)
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and policies
- Providing excellent customer service in a high-stress environment
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
- National Certification of CHAA preferred
- 3+ years of experience in Patient Access or Business Office setting
- Experience with insurance eligibility systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and billing codes
- Knowledge of Epic applications
Qualifications
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
This is a Per Diem/Variable Shift position.
