Patient Administrative Assistant - Surgical

About the role

This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families.
• Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic Computer Skills Required.
• Ability to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford Hospital.
• CPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement.

Skills

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Hospital based or physician office work experience preferred.
