PATIENT ACCOUNTS SPECIALIST-GOVERNMENT BILLING
About the Role
The Western Region Consolidated Business Office delivers comprehensive insurance revenue services to UHS affiliated facilities, encompassing billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance analysis, and customer service. This role is responsible for the maintenance and processing of patient accounts, ensuring timely and accurate gathering of information for proper billing, collections, and follow-up for Government payers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and process patient accounts.
- Gather information for proper billing, collections, and follow-up for Government payers.
- Conduct appropriate account activity and overcome barriers to assure timely payment.
- Understand managed care contracts and reimbursement procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of government medical insurance billing and reimbursement.
- Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
- Participate in cross-training opportunities.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of government medical insurance experience in a medical setting.
- High School diploma or equivalent; billing/collections coding education is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of government medical insurance billing and reimbursement.
- Experience with medical claims and Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
