Patient Accounts Representative

POSITION SUMMARYThe Patient Account Representative is responsible for managing patient billing and payment processes with accuracy, courtesy, and efficiency. This position requires a balance of strong communication skills and empathy to help patients understand and meet their financial obligations while maintaining compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate directly with patients to explain their financial responsibilities and payment options. Work with patients to establish payment arrangements for outstanding account balances in accordance with company policy. Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries and concerns regarding statements or balances. Contact insurance companies via phone or online portals to verify eligibility and benefit information. Document all patient calls and account activity accurately and promptly in eCW (eClinicalWorks). Assist with general billing and collection activities as assigned to support the department’s overall goals. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred 2 years of office experience in medical billing / collections preferred 2 years customer service required Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of professionalism. Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and analytical thinking.
