The objective of this position is to support the organization's goals by performing A/R and claim functions timely and accurately. Duties include:
- Conducting collection follow-up activity on unpaid medical claims for Husky and Project Safe payer and back up to all other payers (as needed).
- Performing accurate and timely billing of Project Safe claims, secondary claims, and crossover claims for all other payers.
- Editing and rebilling claims, following up on denials, processing appeals, and ensuring claims are paid for Husky and Project Safe payer.
- Posting paper insurance payments, CSSD, Wise, and Project Safe payments.
- Interacting with CHR sites to update insurance information, follow up from previous emails, and re-enter corrected data into the billing system.
- Completing monthly projects needed to keep EHR system updated as directed by the director of the department.
- Reporting payer issues to the supervisor as appropriate.
- Entering and maintaining client billing and financial information into the Credible billing system and other software programs as necessary.
- Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of client financial and billing data.
- Answering and appropriately handling incoming phone calls, addressing questions and concerns from staff, insurance companies, and other providers and clients.
- Maintaining current working knowledge of third party payer requirements.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of client related information.
- Maintaining documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
- Participating in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in billing and collection of unpaid claims, preferably in a medical environment.
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and third party insurance preferred.
- No licensure/certification/registration required.

Compensation starts at $19.28/hour minimum, with actual rates determined at the time of offer based on relevant experience and adherence to internal equity policy. Many positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (For part-time positions, this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked.)
