Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to patients on outstanding balances
- Review, analyze, and reconcile patient accounts, including copays, deductibles, and insurance balances
- Provide clear explanations of financial responsibility and generate accurate estimates when applicable
- Perform collection activities in accordance with RCA policies and regulatory guidelines
- Address patient inquiries, complaints, and disputes with professionalism and resolution-focused communication
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate resolution with internal teams (billing, coding, front office, etc.)
- Document all account activity thoroughly and maintain accurate, compliant records
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the PAS
- Lead as appropriate
- Meet or exceed assigned productivity and quality performance metrics (KPIs)
- Offer and explain payment arrangements and financial assistance programs (MAP Program, Hardship, etc.)
Qualifications
- Knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance processes, and revenue cycle operations
- Strong communication and customer service skills with a patient-centered approach
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with EMR and billing systems preferred
- Effective conflict resolution and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and accuracy in financial documentation
