About the role
The Patient Access Representative works as a member of a team assigned to perform front desk functions, client registration, and the collection of information necessary to ensure reimbursement for services. Responsibilities
- Act as a receptionist greeting all clients and visitors.
- Make appointments and reminder calls for multiple providers.
- Maintain the front desk schedules and perform daily preparation activities.
- Collect necessary information (e.g., income verification, voter registration, CurrentCare registration, demographic updates).
- Register new clients, gather necessary paperwork, and electronically open cases at admission.
- Verify benefits with insurance carriers and enter the information into CMHC.
- Obtain and monitor authorizations and reimbursement processes.
- Maintain specific client data electronically (e.g., CurrentCare numbers).
- Record co-pay information and electronically enter cash receipts.
- Participate in the development of procedures to enhance current practices.
- Process reports for specific data.
- Perform light secretarial duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience working with Third Party Payers and/or one year of support experience in a human service office environment.
- Comfortable working in a computer environment.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written), including speech, grammar, spelling, and legibility.
- Moderate mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Demonstrated skill in using spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Ability to complete all required training and certifications.
- Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with external contacts.
- Present ideas and information in a timely, concise, and appropriate manner.

Pay
$18.13–$29.90 per hour.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
- 8 hours per day.
