Patient Account Rep
About the Role
As a Patient Account Representative, you will be responsible for preparing and processing superbill charges and payments, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. You will meticulously post these charges and payments to patient accounts and efficiently schedule daily appointments, contributing to the smooth operation of patient billing and scheduling.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in financial transactions, strong organizational skills for scheduling, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency in patient account management.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patients for department services, including calling patients to set up and confirm scheduled appointments and recording cancellations and rescheduling time slots.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate department-specific calendars (physical or electronic).
- Receive, collect, verify, record, update, and distribute patient medical records, demographics, and financial information in accordance with FHS standards and guidelines.
- Enter data for patient accounts, registration, finance, and reimbursement functions.
- Prepare intake packets and send requisite paperwork to appropriate staff, providers, and departments.
- Collect patient records, labs, charts, and other items necessary for patient appointments.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited medical terminology course(s) or equivalent on-the-job training, upon hire.
- Two years of related work experience in patient registration, insurance verification, or a related function that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Pay
$23.90 - $34.79 per hour
